Riddles and Puzzles # 87
There once was a very powerful king. He had two sons. The king knew he would soon die, and he wanted to pass on his kingdom to only one of his sons. To determine which son should receive the kingdom, he proposed a strange race.
Both sons would race on their horses to a distant city. The LAST one's horse to cross the finish line would be the son to inherit the kingdom.
They wandered the wilderness together for weeks, neither wanting to make the first move towards the finish line. Eventually they sought out advice from a wise old man in a village they were passing through. After spending just a few minutes with this wise man, they got on their horses and raced as fast as they could to the finish line.
What did the wise old man say to them?
